Boulder Startup Week Sponsor: AppliedTrust

If it weren’t for fantastic sponsors like AppliedTrust, the Boulder Startup Week wouldn’t be the startup lovefest that it is today. Welcome back AppliedTrust as a sponsor for BSW2016!

AppliedTrust, the leader in Secure DevOps, is proud to be a longtime supporter of Boulder Startup Week. The company provides consulting services in the areas of IT infrastructure, security, open source, performance, and high availability and serves clients in industries that include hospitality, healthcare, financial services, recreation, and government. AppliedTrust has deep expertise that spans many environments, including Microsoft, Unix, and Linux. Its engineers’ credentials include published books, articles, and ongoing conference engagements, as well as technical certifications such as CCIE, CISSP, CSSLP, MCSE, MCITP, RHCSA, CSSA (SCADA), ITILv3, and PCI QSA.

Founded in 2001 by Trent R. Hein and Ned McClain, the company has been helping startups in Boulder and the surrounding area for nearly 15 years. Its team of engineers loves the challenge, excitement, and fast pace of working on new ventures, in keeping with the Colorado work-hard, play-hard lifestyle, and AppliedTrust is always eager to help other like-minded companies succeed.

In addition to supporting the startup community, AppliedTrust is a strong believer in giving back to the broader community in which it operates. As an example, AppliedTrust volunteers time and resources to benefit the Humane Society of Boulder Valley. Along with sponsoring annual fundraiser events such as the Cause for Paws, the company has focused its efforts on upgrading and improving the Humane Society’s technology infrastructure, with the goal of making the Humane Society website more efficient and more secure.

AppliedTrust will be opening its doors as part of the 6th Annual BSW Startup Crawl on Tuesday 5/17 at 5 p.m. and will also present “Building a Killer Company Without VC Funding” on Friday 5/20 at 9:30 a.m. at the Naropa Performing Arts Center. This high-energy talk by Hein and McClain will cover tricks and tips gained from 15+ years of running a bootstrapped company, from its founding to its acquisition by ViaWest, Inc. in June of last year. Additionally, there will be two events hosted at the AppliedTrust office, “ChatOps: Rise of the Bots” on Thursday 5/19 at 4 p.m., and “Staying Alive with DevOps” on Friday 5/20 at 3 p.m. If you see AppliedTrust folks during these and other BSW2016 events, please thank them for their sponsorship!

We’re so glad AppliedTrust is back as a sponsor for BSW2016. We really appreciate your support!
