Welcome Downtown Boulder Partnership as a Third Time Boulder Startup Week Sponsor!

Boulder Startup Week is delighted to welcome back the Downtown Boulder Partnership (DBP) as a sponsor of Boulder Startup Week 2020, and we’re inspired by the way that the DBP embodies our theme this year: Service to Community.

The Downtown Boulder Partnership (DBP) has a rich history that started out in the late 70s when a group of dedicated business owners created the Downtown Boulder Businessman’s Association. From there, the organization blossomed into Downtown Boulder, Incorporated (DBI). This membership-based organization saw the opportunity to create a business improvement district to help market downtown and supplement city services (clean and safe, etc.). Thus, in 2000, the Downtown Boulder Business Improvement District (BID) was established.

Nearly two decades later, the Downtown Boulder Partnership encompasses the BID, the membership organization and the Downtown Boulder Foundation.  The Foundation arm of the organization produces over a dozen signature community events each year. DBP as a whole works tirelessly to make downtown Boulder economically viable and a welcoming place for locals and visitors year round.

During these unprecedented times, supporting our families, friends, neighbors & local businesses is especially important. DBP is supporting the community through the following initiatives:

  • Downtown Boulder Employee Assistance Fund, which provides $500 gifts to downtown employees experiencing financial stress due to COVID-19. Anyone can support this initiative by participating in a Fund Run and encouraging friends to pledge money to support you, or simply by making a direct donation.  Business owners can nominate employees for consideration of the gift
  • Cause an Effect (participating retailers in Downtown Boulder will donate 10% of your gift card purchase to Feed The Frontlines Boulder through the month of May)
  • A list of business resources can be found here

As the community awaits connecting again in person, DBP is bringing the community together virtually with fun digital events & ways to Love the Local. Be sure to check out the following:

While many businesses are open in limited capacity, restaurants like Pizzeria Locale and Frasca Food and Wine have made the tough decision to temporarily close their doors. DBP is mobilizing local artists to create beautiful paintings over boarded up windows.

From virtual events to the Employee Assistance Fund and business resources, DBP is working hard to support the community. Now more than ever, we have an opportunity to come together and help #LoveTheLocal.

Thank you for your service to the community, Downtown Boulder Partnership!
