Welcome to Boulder! We commend you on your bravery to uproot your existence and plant yourself in the beautiful state of Colorado. We understand that being new isn’t always easy, that’s why we’re introducing you to Boulder Startup Week, five action-packed days that celebrate Boulder’s vibrant startup community. We’re 8 years in the making (can you believe it!?) and have over 200 events that are free and open to the community.
Throughout the week we will have five events in the New to Boulder track that focus on helping you assimilate yourself into the lovable little bubble that is Boulder. Also make sure to check out the Community track!
New to Boulder Events:
New to Boulder Dinner Monday, May 15th 6:00 pm: Our attendees are Boulder residents who work and breathe the startup/tech industry. They will answer YOUR questions about all-things-Boulder. We’ll meet in the back courtyard of Trident Coffee on the west side of Pearl Street. From there we will parse you out by restaurant, pair you with a resident, and send you off into the night to enjoy Boulder’s culinary scene.
Tech Friends Happy Hour Wednesday, May 17th 4:30 pm: Meet us at Techstars’ office to grab a beer, and chat with others about passion projects, your toughest problem, or just ponder if we are a startup town with a craft beer addiction or a craft beer town with a startup addiction?!?
Resume and Interview Workshop Thursday, May 18th 9:00 am: Join us at the Boulder Theater for an interactive workshop that will help you hone your skills.
So You Want to Work at a Startup Thursday, May 18th 10:00 am: Take your polished new resume over to the Boulder Museum of Contemporary and get your foot in the door! Community members with an in-depth understanding of the Boulder startup ecosystem will help you identify where your talents fit within the community.
Gateway to the Weekend Dance Party Thursday, May 18th 8:30 pm: Bring a friend, make some new ones and let’s get down. All. Night. Long. DJ Joel Davis will be playing a mix of global, tropical, and funk-soul beats. Trust us, you will not evacuate the dancefloor.
Community Events:
Boulder Community Open House: Innovation + Impact Tuesday, May 16 3:00 pm: Be inspired by innovative partnerships across industries that are creating social impact in Colorado. You’ll have the opportunity to network across industries, and discover easy tools for making a difference in your own backyard. Also check out their sister event: Boulder Community Night.
7th Annual Boulder Startup Week Crawl Tuesday, May 16th 4:30 pm: This is your opportunity to visit with local startups. The beauty of the crawl is that it’s self-guided; you choose your own journey and spend time with the ones you’re interested in. Stops include visits to: Zayo, 11 Dollar Bill, Brandzooka, Gorilla Logic, theTradeDesk, Matter Communications, VictorOps, Viget and Humanwire.
3rd Annual Boulder Startup Week Job Fair Thursday, May 18th 11:30 am: Back by popular request, our job fair is bigger and better than ever. See a sampling of open positions and come on down to the Boulder Theater for a job hunter’s dream come true.
