Who (is putting these events on)
Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA) presents the 6th annual MediaLive, a new media festival bringing together art, technology, and digital culture.
What
MediaLive consists of a week of live performances, media installations, workshops, and events by contemporary artists and thinkers working internationally in new media. Special events, workshops, and performances will happen in the evenings for the entire week, and installations will be available for exploration at the museum daily from 11am-5pm. All events are free and open to the public.
This year, the festival will center on the theme Interdependence, exposing and embracing our reciprocal relationships with the environment, nonhuman organisms, and each other, while investigating technology’s role in these reliances. MediaLive 2018 will also be the festival’s first edition to feature virtual reality and interactive documentary experiences, providing audience members with new possibilities for becoming active participants.
