Google has been in Boulder for 11 years, and we’re proud to welcome Google back for another year as sponsor of Boulder Startup Week 2017!
Google has been in town since acquiring the startup SketchUp in 2006, with plans to open a portion of their new campus later this year. Between its Boulder operations and Thornton, the company employs more than 650 people in Colorado.
The Boulder office is an “engineering hub,” where folks are working on products like Advanced Measurement Technologies, ChromeOS, Geo, Google Drive, Payments & Search.
Google is a proud supporter of many Boulder nonprofits and community initiatives, including: investing in affordable housing, leading the drive for a new “maker space” in the Museum of Boulder, participating the Boulder Valley School District’s ed-tech summit, hosting the Go Code Colorado apps challenge, and sponsoring the city’s first-ever Bus to Work Day.
Google employees will be sharing their knowledge at various events throughout the week, including:
- Breaking through Orthodoxy: How Startups Can Access Greater Insights (Monday, 1pm at Galvanize)
- How to Use UX/UI Design Early and Often in Your Startup (Wednesday, 4pm at Riverside)
- Dressed to the Nines: Achieving uber-reliable computing (Friday, 2pm at Pivotal)
Sponsors like Google help us keep Boulder Startup Week a free 5-day celebration of all things Boulder and startups, open to the entire community. Thanks Google for sponsoring BSW2017!
