Planning for Boulder Startup Week is in full swing. It’s hard to believe we are nearing the end of March but just as quickly as the warm weather will be here for good, we are locking down this year’s main events, startup players, and essentials of what makes Boulder Startup Week one of the most unique “unconferences” of it’s time.
10 SECONDS…REMIND ME.
Mark your calendars for May 15 – 19, 2017. We are publishing this year’s schedule on April 10 at which time you can register for events, socials, and happenings.
Last year with 62 volunteers, dozens of local/ national sponsors, and community contributors we pulled off 203 events with 8,450 attendees, featuring 421 Speakers throughout Boulder at 71 different venues. Deep breaths as you see what our planning goals are for this year!
GEAR’D UP
You got it, we’re going BIG again…we have several Boulder Startup Week legacy events you can expect on this year’s schedule:
Boulder Beta – Monday Night
You can’t have a startup week without a premier startup party. Boulder Beta involves hundreds of community members: entrepreneurs, students, investors, hackers, hustlers, designers, doers and more. The event features selected start-ups with innovative ideas, and passionate founders are building community-driven companies. Tons of fun, conversation, cocktails and giveaways!
House of Genius – Wednesday Lunch Hour
As a founding city of ‘Genius this event strives to bring different people from the Boulder Community together to help entrepreneur’s solve their “biggest problem” or the “what keeps them up at night”. Rules of the game, as well as the moderators keep the session light, interesting, and better yet, impactful.
Ignite – Thursday Night
“Enlighten us quickly” Andrew Hyde would say. This event involves short, 5-minute talks about the geeky passions hosted in Boulder. Taking the Mic, a talented group of individuals who will take you on an awe-inspiring journey and honest conversations about our culture, community, and world.
Founder Fights – Friday Night
Boulder Founders fighting other founders in this USA Boxing sanctioned event (3 rounds, 2 minutes each) is for real. Not only will there be a bunch of throw-downs and knockouts, but it’s for a good cause. Last year the event raised $56,000 and this year, we are aiming for $100,000. The Corning Boxing Club is leading the charge again this year. Get involved.
WE COOL
We heard your feedback and will be organizing more networking, and social opportunities to connect with startup peers and mentors in the Boulder community. Cool people meeting cool people, is always way cool.
We love our Beer here in Colorado so we will be organizing a Beer Track to feature local Brew masters, tasters and the fine craft that makes the Boulder beer scene oh so cool.
AM dance parties are cool. We are partnering with Daybreakers for a BSW special ticketed event Tuesday morning. Get ready to shake it up and remember costumes are encouraged.
